Project brief

Project focused on the creation and assembly of a wheel attachment using SolidWorks. The initial phase involved meticulous design work, translating conceptual ideas into precise 3D models. SolidWorks served as an indispensable tool, facilitating the creation of detailed drawings for each component, including the hub, spokes, rim, and more.

RESULTS

A model of each part of a wheel system (see below) was designed then assembled virtually (above).

Base plate of the final structure was created using a combination of rectangular and circular shapes.

Features used : Extruded Boss/Base, Extruded Cut, Hole wizard and Fillet (smooth corners).

Two bracket attachments using a combination of rectangular, circular and triangular shapes.

Features used : Extruded Boss/Base, Extruded Cut, Hole wizard and Fillet (smooth corners).

Lastly, the wheel design using circular and rectangular shapes.

The features used : Revolved Boss/Base and Extruded Cut.

In conclusion, the Engineering Graphics project on the design and assembly of a wheel attachment using SolidWorks was a journey of exploration and growth. It not only allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge but also fostered a deeper appreciation for the intricacies involved in bringing a design from concept to reality.
